To all of you who have been waiting to purchase some of my writing, you finally can. One of my short stories, called A Gift Freely Offered, has been published in a digital fairytale anthology titled The Gruff Variations. I’m so excited! I already had my writing group and immediate family members read the story for editing purposes, so that pretty much crosses out all of you actually waiting to purchase some of my writing but that’s fine by me. I have purchased my story and am extremely happy.
I got pretty good feedback for the story, too, from Eric James Stone, the editor. He’s a short-story expert, having won a Nebula Award and published a book of short stories. He’s also a friend of mine from my first writing group. He emailed to say that he had accepted the story and that he really liked it. He even included a smiley face at the end of the message. 🙂 (Original emoticon.)
Click here to download the The Gruff Variations. The anthology includes stories by best-selling Utah authors like Shannon Hale and multiple award-winning short-story authors. It costs $7.99. All proceeds go to Writing for Charity, not me, so the only pressure to buy is from, you know, homeless orphans and such. Seriously, no pressure.
